Letter from a ghost
70' - 9 / 2016
"The death of Jean Moulin, biography of a ghost" (2000) is the starting point of the film.
Patrick Marnham's book meticulously describes the betrayal of Jean Moulin.
A long-term job, near-perfect and yet...
The "truth"might still have escaped him.
A 16-page long anonymous letter from Switzerland that reached him a month after the publication of the book disturbs Marnham.
The anonymous correspondent seems to be very familiar with Jean Moulin's activities during the Second World War.
The movie begins with the investigation that Marnham undertakes, guided by the anonymous letter. Is he going to discover the truth? This investigation will mainly lead him to the british secret services, and to a strange Stalinist spy...
And if Jean Moulin's death was only a "collateral damage" for a far more complex purpose in the international post-war play between the British, the Russians, the Americans...?
